Important COVID 19 information

Cygnet Law is mindful of the government guidance and has put in place a plan to strike a balance between providing a continuing and effective service to all our clients whilst ensuring the well-being and welfare of all staff members.

As a practice we are confident that this can be achieved and we can continue to provide an outstanding service. We are therefore introducing new procedures to minimise disruption to our work and our clients during this time.

A number of our staff are working remotely via a secured connection; however, they will still be contactable by email and telephone in the usual fashion.

We would encourage all clients to ensure that we have your most up to date contact details, in particular telephone and email, in order that we can contact you promptly if necessary.

We are trying to reduce footfall within the office environment to protect not only our staff but also our clients. We understand that some appointments must be undertaken face to face but we are trying to keep this as limited as possible.

We are able to offer telephone meetings as an alternative to attending at our offices, and we would ask that clients consider whether their matter can be dealt with over the telephone rather than in person where possible, in accordance with the guidance from the government to avoid unnecessary contact.

In addition, our fee earners all have means of speaking to clients by video services such as Skype, if you prefer to talk face to face.

We have a clearly signposted drop off box outside of reception for clients that need to return urgent documents, in a safe and secure way.

If you are unsure of any of the arrangements, please contact the office and we will be happy to advise and assist.

We must stress that we will continue to follow government guidance and would ask that anyone who is showing symptoms of Covid-19 does not attend at the office and contact is by telephone only, where we will of course do what we can to assist.

Clients who are worried about any upcoming court hearings, should be assured that we are in constant communication with the court and are monitoring the position as it changes. At this stage, the court is implementing remote hearings by telephone or video link and client’s with upcoming hearings will be contacted shortly to discuss the arrangements. Some hearings may be delayed but this will only be the case if it is not safe for a hearing to go ahead.

The court will be available, as will our team to deal with emergencies applications and support to clients.

We will update our website and Facebook page of any further changes as matters develop.

We ask all of our clients to try and follow the government guidance and to keep themselves and their loved ones safe during this testing time.

We at Cygnet Law will continue to do what we can to support our community and our clients during this time.
