Our Support for Local Charity, Carers Together

Posted on: November 20th, 2020

This year has been a challenge for us all. It’s been especially difficult for smaller local businesses and charities, which is why it’s so important that we help each other through this time. With that said, we are supporting Redcar charity, Carers Together, with a donation of £1,500. As family solicitors, the issue of care is very close to home for us. We hope that this contribution will help people through this strange and hard time.

What Is Carers Together?

Carers Together is a fantastic local charity, based not far from our offices in Redcar. They offer friendly and confidential services that aim to ease the pressure of caring. Their guidance and advice for those in the care community is second to none, and given our family law background, it is a charity we are proud to support. Some of the main areas in which Carers Together support the care community include:

  • Health problems
  • Housing issues
  • Lack of training
  • Employment support
  • Access to benefits
  • Concerns about the person they care for
  • General advice

Why We Support Carers Together

One of the main reasons we chose to support Carers Together is because, working in family law, we have seen first hand the impact COVID has had on our clients in care homes, in residential settings or who depend on carers. The work carried out by organisations like Carers Together is absolutely vital and makes such a huge difference. Without these charities, people in similar situations to our clients would have had very little support during this challenging year.

As with many smaller organisations, Carers Together has really felt the impact of the pandemic. It’s been a tough year for us all. Even so, they have remained open throughout and have worked relentlessly to continue to offer the highest level of support to those who use their services. Their work is truly admirable and will have given plenty of vulnerable people comfort during this time.

How You, Too, Can Make A Difference…

If you want to follow the lead of our family solicitors and help a local charity, there are many ways you can do so. You can make your own donation, you could carry out a challenge and raise sponsor money or you could organise an event (albeit it may have to be a virtual one!) in aid of a charity. The list goes on, and you can be as creative as you like.

Alternatively, there are ways to get behind your local charities that aren’t necessarily financial. For example, simply helping spread their message and their brand would be greatly appreciated. You can do this simply by telling your friends and family about them or sharing their posts to your social media page. You could even enquire with your own workplace to see if there’s anything they would be willing to organise for a charity. Any exposure at all will be helpful through the times we find ourselves in.
