Job Role at Cygnet Law

Alistair Nixon is a long-standing member of the Cygnet Law team, having joined the firm in 2006. Throughout his career, Alistair has performed exceptionally as both a Senior Legal Assistant and Researcher, he has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience over the years. Alistair qualified as a Solicitor on the 30th of November 2023.

Alistair's primary focus is Public Children's Law and Adoption. He holds a particular interest in policy and practice relating to the family justice system in general.

Additionally, Alistair regularly offers training to practitioners on matters recently included in the Public Law Outline, the public law writing group, local authority duties for children, early permanence for children, and practice and procedure in the family court.

Awards & Qualifications

Following his previous education, Alistair pursued his Bachelor's in Politics at the University of Nottingham. He is currently in the process of completing his Solicitor's Qualifying Exam. Additionally, Alistair is also an active member of the Local Family Justice Board, reflecting his interest in the policy and practice of the Family Justice System.
