Job Role at Cygnet Law

Having qualified as a solicitor back in 2016, Eleanor Barber joined Cygnet Law, bringing with her a breath of fresh air to the team. Her passion and determination have pushed us as a firm from strength to strength, so it comes as no surprise that she was appointed as a Director of Cygnet Law back in December 2022.

Eleanor often represents various clients, including professionals, children, parents, and grandparents, in a wide range of proceedings. Eleanor is known for her kind attitude and mindful approach to her clients, as well as to sensitive matters and cases.

Awards & Qualifications

As a current member of the Children Panel, Eleanor is a highly experienced advocate who often deals with complex Local authority matters.

Eleanor possesses extensive trial experience and recently obtained her Higher Court (Civil Advocacy) Qualification in 2023.

As a valued team member, Eleanor deals with various expert applications and witnesses. She has conducted complex public proceedings, including allegations of harm and abuse, adoption applications, secure accommodation order applications and applications invoking the Court's inherent jurisdiction, including deprivation of liberty.

Eleanor's Interests

When Eleanor isn't working hard in the office or the courtroom, she is out and about enjoying the great outdoors as much as possible. Her favourite things to do when basking in nature are hiking with her friends, enjoying a good book in the sunshine, and dipping in the North Sea - yes, even in the winter!

When she isn't donning her hiking gear, Eleanor, an avid cat enthusiast, loves to spend time with her pets while rewatching the lord of the Rings trilogy.
